Birthday Reflections: a Weekend of Abundance

After hosting an unforgettable MBA graduation party just a few weeks earlier, I knew I didn’t need to throw another big event for my birthday. This year, I opted for something more intimate — but no less intentional.

Saturday night was girls night out at Assembly Rooftop Lounge, a chic perch above Philadelphia with sweeping Parkway views and just the right amount of sparkle. I reserved a private booth for our group, and we dressed up for the occasion — heels, lips, and laughter all in full force. There was a tomato pie and charcuterie spread to keep us full, and we sipped on frosé, champagne, and cocktails, leaning into the ease of a night where the only expectation was enjoyment. The vibe? Very Pinkies Up: elegant but unfussy, designed for connection and celebration.

Sunday night, my husband Chiso took the lead and surprised me with dinner at Fiorella, where we indulged in their pasta club tasting menu — a meal that was equal parts rich and grounding. It was the kind of experience that makes you fall in love with food all over again.

And on Monday, I did something even greater: I rested. I took the day off from my full-time role and let myself just be. It was quiet, reflective, and honestly, exactly what I needed to mark the new year.

A Theme of Abundance

As I step into my late 30s, I feel something opening — a clarity, a calm, a confidence. I’m learning how to trust myself more, love the life I’ve built, and lean into the next chapter with grace. The theme of this birthday was abundance: not in excess, but in depth. In friendships that fuel me, in moments that nourish me, and in the vision I have for what’s next.

Pinkies Up Events was born from a love of these very moments — where food, people, and atmosphere come together effortlessly. And while this birthday wasn’t a business event, it reminded me exactly why I want to build this. A simple but stunning rooftop night with girlfriends? Absolutely. A curated dinner to remember? Yes please. A moment to pause and reset? Essential.

Elevating the Everyday

That’s what Pinkies Up is about: making elegant moments accessible — whether it’s a luxe birthday bash, a backyard wine night, or a rooftop toast to new beginnings. We don’t need an excuse to gather beautifully. But when we do gather, let’s do it well.

Cheers to another year of growth, glamour, and grazing boards. And cheers to building something new, one inspired event at a time.

xo, Ashley
